In January 2021 Caffè Milani makes its entry on Alibaba.
This platform is the largest e-commerce in the world and connects 18 million buyers in 190 countries.
This step is the expression of the desire to follow a new commercial strategy.
“We decided to join the Alibaba platform because we want to make our reality and our products known to a BtoB market. We wish to interface with buyers interested in quality, exclusivity, customization and made in Italy which our company can offer” – declares Pierluigi Milani, owner of Milani SpA.
On Alibaba Caffè Milani will have its own website with the company history, its production and products divided into 5 macro-areas: coffee beans (blends), ground coffee (single origins and blends), Nespresso compatible capsules (single origins and blends), Espresso System Milani capsules (single origins and blends), coffee pods (single origins and blends).
Meantime the market for cafes in East Asia is growing, despite the difficulties related to Covid-19.
The three largest markets, South Korea, China and Japan recorded growth of 8.3%, 2.9% and 2.3%(Allegra-2020 figure). Today China is in 17th place among coffee consuming countries and in the last 10 years it has grown by an average of 16%, compared to 2% worldwide (Ico figure). The force is represented by all young people who travel abroad and return from their studies or business trips bringing with them the new habit of drinking coffee at the cafè.
In the Eastern countries the concept of “made in Italy” is very important, for this reason a brand with a strong tradition, reliability and quality like Caffè Milani can only be successful.
Our company saw in the last months the opening of the first flagship stores in Taiwan and Hong Kong.
